Lifetime Engine Warranty

The Cox Toyota-Scion Lifetime Engine Warranty comes with most every NEW or USED vehicle that we sell. It's a limited, non-manufacturer warranty provided by Cox Toyota. Come give Cox a try and leave in a vehicle that will give you peace of mind for as long as you own it.

Lifetime Limited Warranties

Lifetime limited warranties provide coverage for as long as your customer owns the vehicle. It is not intended to meet the Federal Trade Commission Used Car Rule or regulations in your state.

Eligibility

Eligible makes, ineligible models and usage rules are the same as the short term limited warranties, but the model year and odometer eligibility is different.

0 – 15 model years old (current and next calendar year = 0)

0 – 85,000 miles (odometer reading as of the date of sale)

Coverage

Lifetime limited warranty plans exclude seals and gaskets and wear and tear coverage.

Engine (no Seals & Gaskets / no Wear & Tear)

Covers Engine parts specifically listed:

All internally lubricated parts contained within the engine block and cylinder head(s).

Cylinder head, engine block and rotor housings when damaged as a result of the failure of a covered internally lubricated part.

Additional Benefits

Lifetime limited warranty plans do not include additional benefits.

Deductibles

Lifetime limited warranties deductible options: $100

Expiration

The lifetime limited warranty term starts on the vehicle date of sale. Coverage expires when your customer no longer owns the vehicle.

Optional Vehicle Service Contract

The customer may choose to expand coverage by purchasing a vehicle service contract from your default offering. Lifetime terms are not available for service contracts.

Who backs the Lifetime Engine Warranty?

The Lifetime Engine Warranty is backed by Zurich Insurance Company. Zurich is one of the largest insurance companies in the world and the largest automotive dealer insurance provider. The company can trace its roots in the U.S. automotive industry back to 1922, with the founding of the Universal Underwriters Insurance Company. It's an A+ rated company.

Which vehicles are covered?

The Lifetime Engine Warranty applies to all new vehicles. It also applies to 95%+ of the used vehicles we sell. All used vehicles that are less than 8 years old & that have 85,000 miles or less at the time of sale are covered by the Lifetime Engine Warranty.

How long does the Lifetime Engine Warranty last?

The Lifetime Engine Warranty is valid for as long as you own the vehicle - for an unlimited time, unlimited miles.

Do I have to get all my service at Cox Toyota?

No. Although we hope you do! Our award-winning Service Department has over 54 years of exceeding expectations, but you are not required to come here. We have a state-of-the-art facility and factory-trained technicians that are aiming to keep you safe and get you back on the road quickly. To maintain the warranty, you must perform the manufacturer's recommended maintenance and keep your records. That's all there is to it!

What is covered under the Lifetime Engine Warranty?

The lifetime engine limited warranty covers engine components, and related labor.

All internally lubricated parts contained within the engine block and cylinder head(s) including: piston, piston rings, wrist pings and bushings, connecting rods and rod bearings, crankshaft and main bearings, camshaft, cam chains, cam bearings and cam cover, timing chain, gears, tensioner and guide, variable valve, timing parts, rocker arms, shafts and bushings, rocker arm pivots, adjustments screws, spring and tension controller, valves, valve seats, valve springs, valve spring retainers, valve guides, valve push roads, hydraulic valve lifters, oil pump, oil pump drive, shaft and gears. Cylinder head, engine block and rotor housings when damaged as a result of the failure of a covered internally lubricated part. Seals and gaskets when required in connection with the repair or replacement of a covered part. Coolant, lubricants and oil filters when required in connection with the repair or replacement of a covered part.

If I sell the car does the Lifetime Engine Warranty go with it?

No. The Lifetime Engine Warranty is not transferable. If you buy it from us, it's good for as long as you own the vehicle.
