2023 Toyota Tundra: Capability & Performance

When you think of a truck, one of your first questions might be, “what’s the towing capacity?” Trucks are great for all sorts of activities, from bringing along heavy work equipment to towing a boat for a fishing trip.

Thankfully, the 2023 Toyota Tundra has plenty of power to offer. When properly equipped, it can tow and haul the following amounts:

  • Maximum towing capacity: 12,000 pounds
  • Maximum payload capacity: 1,940 pounds

Towing and payload capacities depend on a number of factors, one of which is the engine you select. The Tundra has some exciting V6 engine options to choose from, including an efficient hybrid!

Enjoy 358 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque from the Tundra’s standard i-FORCE 3.4L Twin-Turbo V6 engine. To boost this power, upgrade to the optional i-FORCE MAX 3.4L Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid engine for metrics like 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.

Such towing and hauling will be made easier through numerous features, like standard Trailer-Sway Control, available power tow mirrors, and the optional Integrated Trailer Brake Controller. The Tundra also offers an available 4x4 drivetrain for additional traction on slick surfaces.

2023 Toyota Tundra: Technology Systems

The Toyota Tundra comes equipped with advanced technology to match its exciting capability. A standard 4.2-inch or available 12.3-inch Multi-Information Display keeps you in tune with performance metrics, while the standard 8-inch or optional 14-inch touchscreen houses your apps.

Either touchscreen connects to a variety of systems, like wireless Apple CarPlay®, wireless Android Auto™, and SiriusXM®. Use those apps to connect to your device and request directions, call a friend, or play specific songs.

Numerous towing-specific technology systems are also available here. Check out the available Trailer Backup Guide system with Straight Path Assist. You’ll more easily maneuver your machine with a trailer attached so that you can safely park it or pull out of a space.

2023 Toyota Tundra: Interior Amenities

Interior amenities also play an important role in your comfort. The 2023 Tundra has a lot of standard features, like the Smart Key System with Push Button Start.

It goes on to include optional upgrades that will make each drive more luxurious. Some of these features include the following:

  • Heated & ventilated front and rear seats
  • Dual zone climate control
  • 8- or 10-way power front seats
  • Driver’s-seat memory function

More convenience comes in the form of the standard 60/40 split, folding rear seat that fits more cargo in the cabin. For larger items that need to go in the truck bed, you’ll appreciate the available tailgate release bump switch. Just bump the left taillight and the bed comes down for easier access!
